The Maturing Stage

This is the STAGE where you begin to take on more leading and serving roles in ministry. It is a transformational process that comes from connecting to God’s greater purpose. God challenges and convicts us to realize that life is much bigger than our personal comforts and preferences. You are moving from being self-focused to genuinely caring about the needs of others. At this STAGE your heart is truly becoming God-centered and others-focused. You are more sensitive to God’s purpose, your priorities begin to change, and you take on the approach that every opportunity is one to show the love of Christ to someone else.

SOME THOUGHTS AND QUESTIONS DURING THE MATURING STAGE:
  • I love my group, but there are others who need a group like this.
  • Look how many people are in church today… it’s awesome! I should park further from the doors so visitors and the elderly can have the more convenient spaces.
  • In my devotions, I ran across something I have a question about.
  • It’s great to see how many children are coming to Clear Creek. I bet the children’s ministry staff could use more volunteers. I’ll see what I can do to serve.

WHAT NOW?  Follow your heart where God is leading you...to something more grand than you can imagine.  Now is a good time to focus on these things:
  • Find someone to disciple you in a deeper walk with Christ as you strive to be Christ-centered.
  • If you haven’t already, find a place to use your Spiritual Gift(s) in service to God.
  • Think about who may need what you have found in Jesus, and talk to them. Ask the church staff about a mission trip you can participate in.
  • Develop a giving plan. Create a budget that allows you to freely give back to God according to how he has blessed you financially.
